311 Omakase may just be the most talked about restaurant in town at the moment, specifically for its location - the cozy basement of a South End brownstone.  The thoughtful placement of the restaurant was to represent the history & cultural diversity of the South End - giving back traditional Omakase cuisine, to a neighborhood that plays a vital role in its rich, cultural heritage. 

This simplistic, yet highly thoughtful restaurant is the first for owner & chef, Wei Fa Chen, who has 10 years of experience working & training under acclaimed Michelin Star chefs. After mastering the art of Japanese cuisine, Chef Wei brings his love & passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences, to the heart of the South End, infusing traditional Japanese cuisine with his own flair.

This 18-course Japanese seafood journey will take you through horsehair crab, to horse mackerel, with Chef Wei's modern, yet sophisticated spin on traditional Japanese cuisine. The menu constantly changes due to Chef Wei's careful consideration into what he will be making that evening, however, some popular dishes you may expect to see are aori ika (squid nigiri with lime zest), two rounds of tuna (featuring a fatty belly cut, and lean cut), miso soup, and the tamago, a Japanese rolled omelet. But that's not all - most of the seafood comes directly from Japan, serving only the finest freshest ingredients there is to offer.

311 Omakase offers only 10 seats, for two time slots per night (5:30pm & 8:30pm), 6 days a week (closed Tuesdays).  Pricing begins at $230/person, and currently, there is no alcohol being served.  Eating at this intimate spot will surely take dining & art to a whole new level, as the food is prepared right in front of you, on a sushi counter imported directly from Japan, and served on rare, antique plateware handmade by Japanese potter, Akira Satake.
