As March is quickly coming to a close, we are celebrating the last few weeks of Women’s History Month with ways to give back to local women’s charities. Read on for more information on a few charities in the Boston area to support.
Rosie’s Place | Rosie’s Place was founded on Easter Sunday 1974, as the first shelter for women in the country. As a multi-service community center offering women emergency shelter & meals, Rosie’s Place has become more like a home to 12,000 poor & homeless women each year. This past Thanksgiving, the Kopman Adler team donated an assortment of pies to Rosie's Place.
Women’s Lunch Place | Monday through Saturday, the staff & volunteers at Women’s Lunch Place provide nutritious meals, hygienic essentials, free medical care & a variety of creative opportunities for personal & professional growth to women experiencing severe trauma, abuse and/or loss. Women’s Lunch Places provides services to about 1,800 women each year.
Women’s Foundation of Boston | With over $4.3 million committed to nonprofits serving women & girls, the Women’s Foundation of Boston economically empowers women & girls through the funding of high impact leadership & economic programs. This support grants women & girls job training opportunities, STEM education, and entrepreneurship skills.
Dream Big! | Dream Big’s mission is to help girls & young women from low-income situations achieve their dreams by providing them with equipment, sports attire, program fees and leadership training needed to enable them to participate in sports and physical activities that contribute to their health and well-being.
Boston Women’s Fund | The Boston Women’s Fund uplifts, invests in & advocates for women, girls, and gender-expansive individuals who are leading system change. With over 800 volunteers, they have impacted over 100 communities in the Greater Boston area.
